Narration of Imperative Sentences
Rule : Use of 'command' or 'order' in case of order by authoritorial persons to subordinates, like 'teacher to student', 'guardian to ward', or 'officer to subordinate'.
Example
Direct : The teacher said to the students,"Stand up."
Indirect : The teacher ordered the students to stand up.
Try these
1. The master said to the servant,"Bring me a glass of warer."
2. The officer said to the soldiers,"Shoot."
3. My mother said to me, "Bring some vegetable from market."
4. The teacher said to the students,"Write as I say."
5. The monk said to the villagers,"Bring some milk."
Rule : Use of 'request' in case of request.
Example
D - The boy said to his father,"Please give me some money."
I - The boy requested his father to give him some money.
Try these
1. Milan said to Amar,"Please lend me your pen."
2. She said to me,"Please help to solve this problem."
3. She said to him,'Please bring me a glass of water.'
Rule : Use 'ask'/'tell' if it is not clear whether it is order or request. If it seems like request, use 'ask'. If it seems like order, use 'tell'. Yet, 'ask' and 'tell' can be used interchangeably.
Example
The man said to the shopkeeper,"Give me a packet of biscuit."
--The man asked/told the shopkeeper to give him a packet of biscuit."

1. She said to me, 'Give me some money.'
2. They said to me, 'Go to your office.'
3. He said to Ram,'Work out this sum.'
Rule : Use of 'advise'in case of advice
Example
D - My father said to me,"Take exercise regularly."
I - My father advised me to take exercise regularly.
Try these
1. The teacher said to the student," Read four hours a day.'
2. Father said to his son,'Rise early in the morning.'
3. My teacher said to me,"Do your duty first."
Rule: Use of 'suggest' in case of suggestion.
Example
D - He said,"Let us go for a picnic."
I - He suggested that we should go for a picnic.
Try these
1. He said,"Let us go to school."
2. She said,"Let us play now."
3. She said,"Let us eat."
Rule: Use of 'proposed to' in case of 'said to'.
Example
D - He said to me,"Let us go for a walk.'
I - He proposed to me that we should go for a walk.

3. She said to me,"Let me do my homework."
